Bonnie Collection
The new Coach Bonnie collection is inspired by one of Coach's earliest designers, Bonnie Cashin. Her "Cashin Carry" bag, born in the early 1960's, was essentially a utility tote that incorporated an outer coin purse pocket, defying the common stereotype that women carry handbags containing just their lipstick, cash, and keys. As for me personally, I carry everything I need for the entire day in my handbag. And that was the concept that Bonnie Cashin incorporated into her design. Women are workers. Women have stuff. Women are productive and so are their bags.
This new collection, inspired by Cashin's social commentary and love of candy colors and utilitarian design, brings a fresh new twist to the classic silhouettes that have inspired Coach for the past four decades. This particular piece, the straw lady bag, includes straw and leather trim, outer front turnlock pocket, framed closure and fabric lining. I absolutely love this bag and would be a proud lady to carry it on my arm.
