Coach Bonnie Leather Tote

I recently saw this new Coach Bonnie large leather tote bag and I must say I was really impressed with it. Bonnie Cashin, the original designer of the “Cashin Carry” bag, inspired this bag’s creation, while its updated hardware and silhouette have been modified.
The first tote handbag that Bonnie Cashin created was very similar to this style, but much more casual. It was your basic tote as we know it now, with a coin purse pocket on the outer front. I think it’s brilliant. As a working woman in today’s society, I’m carrying everything from my wallet and keys to my organizer, paperwork, and whatever electronic devices I need that day. Having a coin pocket at my disposal to grab that quarter when I need it is so very handy.
And there’s a lot of room for your stuff. This bag measures in at 15 1/2 (L) x 15 (H) x 2 1/2 (W). Technically, while it can fit your laptop, I wouldn’t recommend using it to tote it around unless you don’t have anything else you’re carrying in it. There’s always a chance you’ll stretch the leather, plus anything in bag could scratch your machine. It’s best to keep it housed in a proper laptop case.
The inside zip pocket and two multifunction pockets are perfect for your cell phone, keys, lipstick, and other mini essetials that would otherwise be lost at the bottom of your handbag.
And while the 20″ strap is detachable, I would most likely leave it attached when I have a full tote. It looks really cute when you leave the strap on too, as you can see in this picture. Some bags don’t look so hot when you use the detachable strap (right?) but I like how the handles look even when they’re dangling down because they’re somewhat short and don’t get in the way.
One last thing to note is that the bottom of the bag is slightly gusseted, which makes for a bit more interior room. Plus it just adds to the fullness of the design. I give the bag two thumbs up. What do you think of it?
