Last week I purchased this Marc by Marc Jacobs oversized Softy Jorie tote and I can’t wait til it gets here! I fell in love with the bag ever since I first laid eyes on it in person. I vowed that I wouldn’t spend the money, but in the back of my mind I knew if the bag ever sold out I would never be able to get it. I reasoned with myself on why I should invest the money now instead of waiting a little longer, and figured I’d share my thougths with you. 5. Quality Handbags Will Last You Longer
You might be asking, What is quality? Here, I’d have to say, You must do your research before purchasing. The last thing you would want is to spend your hard earned dollars on a less-than-stellar piece that you’re going to regret. If the bag is leather, make sure you know how to care for it so it doesn’t discolor or stretch. If it’s fabric, make sure you understand how to properly clean it to make sure it will have a long life. If you care for a quality handbag, you could find yourself using it for decades to come, something that you won’t get out of a cheaply made bag.
4. Buying One Quality Bag Can Cost Less Than Many Cheap Bags
Have you ever in your life looked in your closet and found that you have 10-15 really poorly made bags? If you average $40 per bag, that would easily be over $400 on junk that you will eventually throw away. If you invest in fewer quality pieces, and don’t worry about quantity, there is a likely chance you will have spent less on goods in your lifetime than if you’d tried to save money by buying more low quality items.
3. High Quality Handbags Won’t Sell Forever
If you are keen on a particular designer, and you’ve saved enough money to ensure you can pay for the bag, buy it. There is a good chance you will not be able to buy the handbag in the next season, or even sooner. Unless you have your eye on a bag that has been manufactured every year for the last 10-20 years, there’s no security assuming it will be available for you to purchase later on. Just make sure that the bag you invest in isn’t a fad and will serve you well for years to come.

Have you ever seen pictures of celebrities walking to or from a restaurant, or going to their car after the gym, or just walking around in plain clothes out in public and thought to yourself, How does she do it - she looks so plain and fabulous at the same time? Then you’ve realized that it wasn’t just her uniquely fabulous self that is making her shine? It’s her handbag. This has happened to me on more than one occasion. It’s because if there’s one thing that celebrities learn how to do, it’s style themselves. Handbags really can make the outfit, and turn one boringly plain ensemble into a cohesive masterpiece. If you don’t know what I mean, try it in front of your closet. Even if you just have one drop-dead gorgeous handbag, that can be worth an endless number of killer wardrobe combinations.
1. It Makes Me Feel Good
I don’t know about you, but when I have a well-crafted handbag on my arm, it’s like carrying a piece of art that I want to share with the world. Let’s face it, if there is anything that can bring even a little joy to your everyday routine, why not incorporate it? It’s not materialistic, it’s a personal preference. I know how to rock a pair of Converse shoes, Gap jeans, and a killer handbag that doesn’t scream “diva.” It’s just a statement that I love who I am, and what I express on the outside makes me happy and comfortable.
